We return to our beloved Portugal, between the Douro Valley, UNESCO world heritage, and the National Park of Peneda-Geres. The enchanting location which will welcome us was born specially to host Yoga retreats. The attention to detail from the property owners is tangible, you can breath it in the air, you can see it in the smallest details around every corner of the property, you can taste it at every meal. Our stay will be surrounded by a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, away from the city caos.
The format chosen for this edition combines Yoga and Meditation to guided hikes with experts local guides. Sound and live music will also be a part of our experience. If you wish to unplug from your daily routine and gift yourself with a regenerating break, surrounded by nature, if you love the magical union between Yoga & music…. we will see you there!
This time together is dedicated to nurture us and restore our energies, too often depleated because of a stressful life. We will be surrounded by a magnificent nature in a welcoming location where healthy and tasty food is a priority. During the day we will have the chance to practice once or twice, according to the schedule. We planned three guided hikes; during these days we will have one Yoga class, during the remaining days we will practice twice.
The morning practice will start at 8.00, following we will have a rich brunch. The night practice will be at 18.00. Dinner will be served afterword. During the day you will have available teas and fruit.
What to discover:
Less than and hour from our location we find Guimaraes, Braga, Porto and Barcelos, charming and historical Portuguese towns. In Barcelos every Thursday we may visit one of the biggest markets of the country. About 45 minutes from us you find the Duero Valley and its terraced vineyards which make this territory quite unique.
My style of teaching takes inspiration from Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga. The typology of classes may vary according to the group’s needs. The sequences might gear towards a more flowy Vinyasa style as well as be shaped as a Restorative Yoga class. At times we may focus on alignment and kramas of specific asana, other times we may be inspired by philosophical and devotional themes. The morning practice is usually more dynamic and solar, while we choose a more lunar and relaxing rythm for the night practices. During this specific retreat we will be delighted by the wonderful presence and magnificent voice of Arya, yogini devoted to Bhakti, sacred sounds and spiritual music.
Food will be an important part of our experience: our location reserves particular care and attention to the preparation of meals. In the kitchen they use only local and seasonal products. The north of Portugal is the most ancient region for the pruduction of some of the country’s best wines. This area is also known in the world for the nectar which grows here, Porto wine. The location offers a great selection of wines for those who appreciate it. If you have food intolerance or allergies you may let us know in time and our Chef Mikel will study a specific menù adequate to cater your needs

There is the possibility to book in advance a car service or shuttle service from Porto airport to the Yoga Center. The price per car, which takes four people maximum, is of 110 euro each way. This service is also available to return to the airport. Although we highly suggest to book a car and share it between the retreat’s participants. This is the cheapest solution (on the Ryanair website you find cars for 20 euro per day ), this option will give you the freedom to explore the surroundings during the free time you’ll have. Once the group will be formed, we will create a Facebook page in which participants will be connected to one another so that these kind of details might be easily organized.
What to bring:
the location provides yoga mats, bolsters, belts and blocks, therefore you may travel light. We suggest: sneakers or hiking shoes, swimsuit, notebook.
